This four-day Indigenous Doula Certification Training is a ceremonial, land-based initiation for those called to birthwork as sacred responsibility, teaching you the role of the doula as guardian, witness, and protector of the maternal path.
This Indigenous doula training is a four-day, in-person learning space for those called to support birth in ways that honor land, lineage, and community care.
Participants will learn practical skills to support pregnancy physically, emotionally, and culturally before, during, and after birth.
Each day is intentionally structured to guide participants through essential aspects of Indigenous birthwork informed by ancestral knowledge. The training moves through four core areas that reflect how birthkeeping has been practiced and carried forward across generations. These teachings come from knowledge passed through lineage, shaped by ancestral wisdom, and grounded in a close relationship with the land and its medicines.
The course emphasizes hands-on learning through activities, workshops, storytelling, and real-world application.

BriAnkh-Ka I-Shanti is a Traditional Birthkeeper, Traditional Midwife, and educator whose work is rooted in ancestral wisdom, spiritual integrity, and embodied care. Since beginning her path in 2017, she has supported families through fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with a focus on sovereignty, intuition, and physiological birth. As the visionary behind Atabey’s Birth Path, her approach honors birth as ceremony, weaving together traditional midwifery, herbal care, and spiritual guidance to support natural, unmedicated births in homes, birth centers, and community settings.
Beyond the birth space, BriAnkh-Ka is a dedicated teacher and retreat facilitator who has guided hundreds through courses and immersions centered on womb wellness, traditional birthwork, and ancestral remembrance. In this training, she serves as both guide and guardian, holding a grounded, intentional container that invites participants to trust their lineage, strengthen their intuition, and step fully into their role as birthworkers with clarity, confidence, and respect for the sacred responsibility of the work.
